Doctor Bill Lear of Suturegard
 
Bill Lear is a Mohs surgeon and dermatologist with over 50 peer-reviewed publications on skin surgery and reconstruction. In 2015, after recognizing the lack of effective tools to manage and prevent adverse surgical outcomes, he co-founded SUTUREGARD Medical to create solutions. He founded and is the program director of an ACGME-accredited Mohs surgery fellowship program and has performed over 30,000 Mohs surgeries in his career. 

Jen Akeroyd

Doctor Jen Akeroyd of Suturegard

Before co-inventing the initial SUTUREGARD device with Bill Lear, Jen published in the fields of skin cancer and wound healing. She has won funding for SUTUREGARD® Medical through grants and pitch competitions (Pitch Oregon seed stage winner). Jen was named Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 by RAIN Oregon.

Dan Ladizinsky

Doctor Dan Ladizinsky of Suturegard

Dan practiced plastic and reconstructive surgery for 29 years, consulted to the medical technology and biotechnology industries for over 25 years, and founded Oxygenesys, LLC and Galaxea, LLC.  He has helped bring wound healing medical device products to market and had a successful exit when Oxygenesys was acquired. He is a former fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has been board certified in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Surgery of the Hand. He is an expert in skin biology and wound healing (multiple publications and grants), and an inventor/author on multiple US patents. As staff surgeon at Kaiser Permanente Northwest, he held the roles of Chief of Plastic Surgery, ASC Chief of Staff and Chief Surgical Officer and was awarded as a Distinguished Physician by his colleagues.

Ryan Egeland, MD, PhD

Doctor Ryan Egeland of Suturegard

Dr. Egeland joined CSI as Vice President of Medical Affairs in November of 2017. He has responsibilities providing global leadership, medical counsel and guidance to the organization on matters related to cardiovascular medicine, product and technology development, medical education, market development, quality assurance, clinical program design, clinical data analysis, regulatory affairs and business development. Prior to joining CSI, Dr. Egeland held roles in marketing, medical affairs and business development at Medtronic. Before this, he trained as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and received an MD with honors from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Egeland also holds a PhD in biochemistry and engineering from the University of Oxford, where he also completed a MBA as a Rhodes Scholar.
