SUTUREGARD® ISR Device

Wound closure tension is more important than wound closure size. For example, a 2.5cm wide wound on a calf may be relatively easy to approximate, while the same size wound on the shin could be very difficult. This SUTUREGARD ISR device enables linear closure for wounds under tension.
How it Works
Suture
Large bite (10mm) suture. We recommend SUTUREGARD® ISR Retention Suture Device custom USP 0 suture.
Thread
Remove suture needle and insert ends of suture through slots of bridge and washer.
Relax
Apply tension to suture and clamp or knot.
Finish Closure
Place additional wound closures supports (e.g. sutures, staples).
